One of Romsdalen's most famous waterfalls is Slettafossen, located along the Rauma River near Verma, about 44 kilometers south of Åndalsnes. The river pushes through a narrow gorge that is 30-40 meters deep, making Slettafossen an impressively powerful waterfall. It's easy to reach the parking area – just take the exit from E136 south of Verma. From here you can walk across the suspension bridge and enjoy the view of the waterfall, and feel free to take a break at the pleasant picnic area. Bring a flashlight and helmet, and prepare for an unforgettable experience! The hike up takes about 1.5 hours and is approximately 3 km – but the reward is well worth the effort.
